Restylane® can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane may also be used for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years.
WHERE CAN RESTYLANE BE USED?
Smile Lines – Treat the area that extends from the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Lips – Restylane can enhance both the upper and lower lips in patients over 21 years.
Marionette Lines – Treat the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline.
Corners of the Mouth – Treat the area next to the crease of the lips.
Restylane® is for mid-to-deep injection into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Restylane® is also indicated for injection into the lips in patients over the age of 21.

Restylane® is a crystal clear injectable gel composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the body. Restylane® is nonanimal based and free from animal protein. Allergy pretesting is not necessary.
Restylane® is injected into the skin with an ultrafine needle to plump the skin to smooth away wrinkles and folds such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) or your lips.
Restylane® effects generally last six months and gradually disappears from the body. If you are treated again at 4 ½ or 9 months after your first treatment, Restylane® can last up to 18 months.
Restylane® is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle. To help maximize your comfort, you should discuss the use of numbing medicines with your doctor before treatment.
Safety has not been established for use in people who are: • Pregnant • Breast feeding • Wishing to be pregnant • Under 18 years or over 65 years • Highly allergic (for example: gram positive bacteria) • Prone to bleeding disorders
The most commonly observed side effects are swelling, redness, pain, bruising, headache, tenderness, lump formation, itching at the injection site, and impaired hand function. These are typically mild in severity and typically resolve in less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14 days in lips. Serious but rare side effects include delayed onset infections, recurrence of herpetic eruptions, and superficial necrosis at the injection site.
As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.
